Charity shop find and lovely e.l.f buys

By Gem - 22:22:00

Got a great post coming up soon about a vintage fashion shoot I was invited to and I'm going to lots of events in my area which I will report back to everyone. Don't forget to enter my giveaway here for your chance to win £25 to spend on lovely things :)

The first thing I have to show you is a great charity shop find
I got this gorgeous pink glass dressing table set for £4 in the St Anne’s Hospice. I really love the little pots, I've put all my hair clips and brooches in them. My dressing table looks so much neater now!

I have seen loads of great reviews about e.l.f. products on make up blogs and everything is on the site is so cheap I thought I would give it a go. I was a bit sceptical because I do like to buy quite expensive make up because I believe what you put on your skin is very important and I don't want to risk a break out, I had quite bad skin as a teenager so make up has always been important to me to cover up imperfections.
Here are the products I bought

The tinted moisturiser is great, just as good as any of the more expensive ones I have bought, it's pretty small but that I reflected in the price which is only £1.50. It had enough coverage and has spf15 in it so it's great for everyday wear, it was nice and light too.

The blush and pressed powder are lovely, nothing amazing but totally great for the price and the blusher is a great size for weekend away or holidays when you don't want to take full size make up.

I love the product zit zapper and not just because of the name. It contains Salicylic Acid, Tea Tree Oil, Witch Hazel and Camphor which all help fight acne. I am happy with this product and it will take a little time to see if it works but it has reduced redness, yay!

The lilac nail polish was only a pound and you only needed two coats, can't got wrong.
Here's what it looks like on, pretty good ey?

The best two products I got were the all over cover stick, you can use it to even out problem area and act as a base or use it as an eye primer. It has a really nice citrus smell, I think I'm going to use loads of this product. Also the under eye concealer and highlighter is a great product. The concealer gives enough coverage, I wont be using the highlighter under my eyes but I have used it under my brow and it looked fab.

Got any great charity shop finds to share with me or can you recommend any good beauty products?

  2. definitely gonna try out e.l.f make-up now...I'm really dubious about cheap make-up too, but I'm in need of a new blusher and lipgloss and I'm on a tight budget.

  3. @ Sarah- I haven't tried Accessorize nail polish yet, I will have to keep my eyes peeled for it especially as one of my new years resolutions was to grow my nails and keep them looking smart.
@Kacie- elf is great, like them on facebook and then you will get to know when they have free delivery codes, even cheaper then!

  6. looks a lovely colour!
i was debating about getting this shade but i instead went for the darker glittery one (completely out of my comfort zone lol) as the lighter one looked very similar to an eyeko one which i have :)

  7. I love the dressing table set you got. I am always on the lookout in charity shops for little ornaments and bits. I see you have Naughty Alice, I wanted this one so much, but in the end didn't get it because I wasn't sure I liked the scent enough- silly me! x

  8. @Rai- I wish I didn't wear so much make up but I feel naked without it, weird isn't it? it's like my confidence mask I put on in the morning... I have a fab eyeshadow from natural collection and a blusher, the pigment is great for a budget line. It's 3 items for £5 at the moment!

@thomessa- go for it, it's so cheap there isn't anything to lose!

@alice-Naughty Alice is odd isn't it? not the usual girly, citrus/floral scent but that's why I picked it :)

  10. Saw your post on cupcakecouture.com about libraries! How true :)
I'm just about to start a library job (academic but still exciting!) so came to check out your blog... love it and going to follow you.
elf cosmetics are such a bargain, every single nail polish I've had from them has been brilliant I have to say!
