I've been pretty uninspired the past couple of weeks. Plus size fashion at the Oscars was as dull as usual and all the plus size stars were sporting a similar royal blue colour. Precious star and best actress nominee Gabourey Sidibe had to fend off designers clamoring to dress her. A whole host of big name designers came knocking, and in the end, Marchesa won out. (Rather odd considering the brand is known for dressing slim stars like Anne Hathaway and Miley Cyrus). It’s good to know that designers are not put off by the idea of their designs being on bigger women.
Here is a little selection of plus size fashion at the Oscars- Best dressed of the evening was Kristen Stewart who not only managed to crack a smile but also rocked something very glam on the red carpet instead of her usual uncomfortable and messy look.
I went to Manchester on the weekend, armed with my camera and I was going to capture some plus size street style but to my suprise there were no plus size fatshionistas to be seen anywhere, I didn't really even see any non plus size girls dressed exceptionally well. It has to be said that the guys of Manchester were the better dressed sex. It was all about the Fred Perry t shirt and well groomed barnetts.
Brothers with a very manc sense of style-
And finally here are some bargains I picked up on my trip
I bought the boots in a discount shoe shop in the Arndale Centre( but you can also get them from here http://www.chockersshoes.co.uk/) and the bag was a £4 bargain buy from British Heart Foundation charity shop.

I went shopping yesterday and picked up some great bargains in the sales and here are a few pictures for you.
Hairband and blue bow clip are both from H&M, shoes are from accessorize, the belt was only £5 from Dorothy Perkins and my fave buy of the day.
The floral dress is from Dorothy Perkins, the black dress is a New Look number and the cute Cath Kidston-eqsue necklace is from Accessorize. The sales at the moment are a good time to pick up plain wardrobe staples and there are a few pieces out there which will carry on through into the new season. Some great new items in New Look at the moment like this skater dress which I have in black, goes with everything and I wear it to work with flats, tights and a cardi or out at night with some shoe boots and a denim shirt. New Look really is a great shop, everything goes up to a size 18 and the inspire range goes up to a size 26.
Pick up a copy of this weeks LOOK magazine for a 20% off New Look voucher.
It's the Oscars on Sunday and I will do a plus size red carpet fashion round up

This article really inspired me to seek out places online where I felt comfortable with who I am. There are a whole host of blogs which celebrate being plus size and fashionable and I want join in.
So here I am, trying to make a blog, it wont be fancy because I have no formatting knowledge, my forté is books and dresses and not technology.
I get my style ideas from all sorts of places- tv, music, architecture and so on so my first real post will be Alice and Wonderland themed to tie in with the new Tim Burton movie and style in Bath, I’m having a little day trip there on Friday so I’m going to take loads of pictures.
