There are loads of student lock-ins at the moment and I'm a little envious because my student ID expired in 2008. Where are my discounts and free goody bags? Well non students (and students) can rejoice because Outfit in Cardiff are having a 1st birthday bash this week and everyone is invited.

Pop along to the store in the Capitol Shopping Park in Leckwith from 7pm for what looks like a very enjoyable evening. There's going to be a nail bar, DJs and most important 10% off all purchases.

Are you going to attend? I've got my eye on a few Topshop tea dresses at the moment and might stock up on a couple of Burton shirts for my brother for Christmas.

It feels like I never do outfit posts anymore, I have been all over the place this summer though but things are starting to return to normal now and I will be back working at the university when term starts again. I've bought loads of new work wear and this dress is my favourite item I have bought recently. It is also the first size 16 dress I have bought since I was about 15. My size 16 joy only lasted a few minutes when I had to buy a 22 in H&M but its a nice feeling being able to walk in to shops and being able to look in the regular collections. The dress looks very purple in the picture but looks more brown in the flesh and the bottom half is pleated. I wouldn't normally wear leggings with this outfit but I have been out walking the dog and I hate doing it in tights.

I've been back at the university working this week even though I have the summer off, only covering a few afternoon shifts but this means I can't lounge around in my pj's with the dog, boohoo! I still only have about ten dresses to chose from because everything is still at my nans while we do work on the house, it's starting to drive me mad! I like to be able to chose from my 2 wardrobes of clothes and endless suitcases under my bed.
I've been trying to wear all of my bigger dresses before they are hanging off me and this is one of my favourites, I'm going to miss when I lose a few more lbs.


I really like the neckline on this dress, very flattering. Not taken my new unicorn necklace off since the Birmingham blogger meet up. Finally, I can never have enough photos of me and Sookie! haha


I'm going to a wedding this weekend at a very posh hotel in Hampshire and all the hens are performing a special surprise dance, I'm so scared. I can't remember the moves and I'm going to fall into someone eeeek! What are your plans for the rest of the week?

I've had a lovely week so far, it's all getting very quiet in work because it's the end of term and I've been having a few shorter days which is great and I've caught up on some sleep. I had a day off this week and I just wore a t shirt and shorts instead if my usual dress and cardi combo and I took Sookie for a walk and took lots of pictures of her. I have a life, honest but I do really love me dog.

I've had a great week of activities in work, we had our library assistants away day where we did lots of team building stuff with staff from other libraries and there were some great presentations. It's been lovely to meet other library assistants who work at Cardiff Uni, we are all split over so many sites. I had a seminar called 'Blog Basics' today which taught me loads of new things. Do you get to do any fun training at work?

Also, how amazing is Nicola Roberts and her debut single? I bloody love this girl! Fab hair, cool clothes and a catchy song, what a woman!

I thought the Frankie and the Heartstrings lyric in the post title sums up my dress lusting at the moment. I don't really need any of these dresses but I do really want them!

The first dress is £45 from Evans or style369 and I think it would be great for work and would be easily adapted for a night out with some heels and a statement necklace. Very practical and very wearable.

The next dress is so beautiful and a bit tacky which is just what I like. It's also a steal at £28 from Tesco and I am in love with the print. I think I would wear it with some black tights and a cropped black cardigan.

The third dress is from River Island and I saw it in black before Christmas. I tried it on and fell in love, it was only a size 14 which is way smaller than my usual size but it looked fab. I left it and tried to find a size 16 or 18 and it had sold out everywhere and I thought I had lost the dress forever but it's back in a brown/mink shade and is £49.99 which is a tad pricey but I'm thinking about getting it for a wedding I have in the summer.

I've not had the time to try out any more nail art this week but I bought this Mushroom shade from Barry M and I love it. I think it's quite chic and an appropriate shade to wear to work.

A rare outfit post for you today, I don't do them that often because I really can't take a good photo. This was the best of the bunch and I took about 15! I bought this dress in the sales and I was so happy to find it because it was originally about £60 in the Evans Beth Ditto range and I got it for £20 once I used a voucher I had. It's a bit dressed up for work but never mind! The brooch is from Accessorize and I mentioned it in my previous sales post.

I'm pretty excited about the weekend. On Saturday I'm going for a meal with the girls from school to have a good catch up. I'm going to the Riverside farmers market on Sunday, then to see some new exhibitions at  the National Museum and then I'm going to go to the In Aid of Vintage event in the evening to hopefully pick up some bargains and enjoy a glass of wine at the same time.

Evans shoe collection is pretty good at the moment. They’re available in sizes E and EEE and selected styles have extra wide calf widths. I picked up these a few weeks ago and I am in love with them




I think that they have really stepped up their game and this seasons boot selection is really very fashionable. I'm always a bit disappointed when I look at New Looks wide selection but I always find something I like in Evans.An extra incentive to go and have a look is that all shoes and boots are 20% off for a limited time.

I bought a new perfume this week called Naughty Alice by Vivienne Westwood and it comes with a lovely free bracelet. One I bought this I had enough Boots point to get a Chanel powder compact which made me a very happy girl.
