Oh New Look, you really do spoil me! I love black shoes, the chunkier the heel the better and if they are under £30 then I'm in heaven. New Look are always my first stop when it comes to finding affordable heels. I always go there if I'm looking for cheap shoes for a night out and you can always pick up something that Topshop sells for half the price in New Look. My favourite heels are from New Look (wearing them here) and they were only £18.




AW13 is going to be all about the punk look with some 60s mod influence thrown in for good measure. The lace up boots are great for wet and cold weather and have a punk feel and the loafers and brogues would look great with a shift dress.

Also, the plimsolls are leopard print with grey and one pair of boots have gold on so you can't complain that all my choices are boring and black ;) A girl can never have too many pairs of black shoes, right?

It's soooooooooo cold! I know you're probably fed up up of people making this statement. I wake up to it on twitter everyday and I've seen more than a few frosty photos on instagram but us Brits do love to talk about the weather. If staying indoors in the warm in my pjs was an option I would do it but I have to go out to work to fund my expensive shopping habits.

The recent cold snap has taught me two things:

1. My dog looks cute in a coat (photo evidence)

2. Ballet pumps are not appropriate footwear when there is ice in the mornings and you will slip flat on your backside at the station in front of your commuter crush (true story)

It's not enough to just put on some thick tights and hope for the best, my feet are practically blue by the time I get to work so I'm on the hunt for some sensible boots that will keep my feet warm and help me to avoid any further bruises to my ego.

I've picked a selection of my favourite sensible but stylish winter boots from Clarks:

First up are these lovely lined boots, don't they look nice and warm? I love the buckles which gives them a bit of a rock edge and the heel looks super sturdy. I think a lining would make a huge difference and help to keep my toes nice and warm.




These classic knee high boots from Clarks are pretty timeless. They have a riding boot feel and I think they would look great with my Barbour jacket if I want to create a bit of a country look. They are real leather so they would last for ages and would look amazing once they had been worn in and battered a bit. Definitely boots you could bring out each Winter.

I've got first day of term blues (hence the miserable face in all the photos) students get excited to be back and see all of their mates, I just feel old and miss my uni days. Boohooo! I am looking forward to seeing Sarah this weekend though and I'm happy to see the return of all the lovely term time only staff that I work with.

I bought this dress when Topshop had free delivery because the store never had my size. It was £18 with student discount and the fit is great. I've now also got this dress in navy because I love it so much, can't go wrong with a plain jersey dress. Apparently there is flooding across the UK and the skies looked pretty grey when I left the house so I took the oppourtunity to wear the practical boots that Daisy Street sent me.




The boots have gone through puddles and my feet have stayed dry and I wore them to work and there aren't any marks of scuffs on them like I was expecting because they are so high shine. I think these boots are a bit of a bargain at £24.99 as real Dr Martens are over £100. I know the real deal might last a lifetime but I'm fickle when it comes to fashion and these are the next best thing.

There is a new shop in Blackwood called IZZIT and it's full of nasty tutu's, JLS merchandise and anything else someone of a chavvy disposition would need. I did have a good snoop around in there and I discovered a whole section with nail aret supplies! I was pretty excited because they had nail art pens in a variety of colours, gems, a great selection of fake nails and some great glitter polishes. I bought these little nail art stickers and even though they are a little tacky I think they look great on.
