This time two years ago I was just about to board my 24 hour flight to New Zealand. I was reminiscing and looking at photos on the weekend and I thought I would share a few with you. New Zealand is a lovely country, it reminded me of Wales... but with better weather and volcanoes!
I was really fortunate because I got to go to New Zealand but didn't have to stay in hostels the whole time. I stayed with a friend and her lovely family in Auckland for nearly three months. I spent the majority of my time in Auckland but I also visited Wellington and Rotorua. Most people visit NZ and like to go rock climbing and bungee jumping but I'm not an outdoors type so I spent most of my time in the city and Wellington was such a great place, I even considered doing and MA there but I realised I was too much of a mammys girl to live on the other side of the world.
Have you ever been to New Zealand? If you could visit any place in the world what would it be? I would like to go to Boston and back to Berlin again.

Wow NZ looks amazing, my guy wants to go over and see the country so we'll add that to the list. I want to go and do a load of road tripping around America see places like Chicago, Boston, New York and just capture it all with endless amounts of photographs.
ReplyDeleteI live in Auckland, New Zealand and follow your blog! I'm a plus size girl and a library assistant too, so we've got a couple of things in common.
ReplyDeleteNew Zealand is a pretty great place to live, although I lived in London for 18 months and I gotta say that I miss the variety of fashion choices there!
i would LOVE to go to NZ and australia :)
ReplyDeletejealous! xx
@Alexis- That's so cool :) I really loved K Road when I was there and sitting up by the domain, by the museum reading. The ferry over to Devenport was lovely too. I know what you mean about clothes shopping, there are no shops like Topshop or New look :( lots of cool op shops though and I got a nice t-shirt from supre x
ReplyDelete@Rachael- I would Love to go to Boston I also want to go to Stars Hollow, I know it's a fictional place but I want to be Lorelai on Gilmore Girls haha I'm so weird x
I'm going to New Zealand in April and this post just made me even more uber excited than I already was!!!!!!!!! :D Hubby and I will be hiring a campervan and driving from Christchurch to Auckland - all recommendations for places to visit en route welcome! xx
ReplyDeleteI want to travel so many places and never get the opportunity, and I'm with you, I'm not much of an outdoorsy gal. I don't mind doing outdoorsy stuff every once in awhile but not all the time. New Zealand sounds lovely. I want to travel all around Europe, visit Alaska, maybe Australia, and I want to plan a fun trip with friends to Vegas.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pictures, I love NZ but haven't been since I was 11. We went for 2 weeks and travelled the country in camper vans stopping a tons of different places. Milford Sound sticks in my mind so vividly, it's was beautiful!!
ReplyDelete@Hannah- I would love to travel around in a campervan! I would have loved it when I was a kid. Devenport was my fave place x
ReplyDelete@Honeysuck_elle- Alaska would be beautiful. San Fancisco would be a nice place in America to visit too.
@Beth Charlotte- I'm going to send you a really long comment about all the cool places I went to when I get 10 mins tomorrow. You're going to have a fab time!
Aaaw it'll nearly be two years since I went travelling too :( it's such a horrible yet wonderful feeling! These snaps look great, I'm so jealous! Where would you like to go next? I've never been to NZ, well, not out of the airport via a transfer! jazzy ♥
ReplyDelete@Claire- I'm not very adventurous, I would be happy with Cornwall or Scotland :) I think it's madness that I've been to NZ but not Scotland, there are so many nice places in the UK to visit x
ReplyDeleteMy boyfriends Uncle emigrated to New Zealand two years ago, he actually lives in Auckland. We were planning on going to visit them but I guess it all depends on cost, but hopefully sometime in the near future we might get out there :)xx
